FAQs

Häufig gestellte Fragen (FAQ)

Products & THCA Guide

Are your products lab tested?

Yes. Every batch is independently lab tested so you can see exactly what’s in your product.

Our Certificates of Analysis, or COAs, verify cannabinoid content, potency and batch information. They also screen for unwanted contaminants including heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents, mycotoxins and microbials.

In plain English: no guesswork, no mystery ingredients, and no nasties.

You can view our latest COAs and test results on our Test Results page.

What’s in Owls Oil vapes?

At Owls Oil, we pride ourselves on natural, premium quality ingredients and transparency. Owls Oil vapes contain a high-potency cannabinoid blend with either botanical-derived or cannabis-derived terpenes.

Exact cannabinoid profiles can vary by product and batch, so always check the relevant product page and COA.

What is THCA?

THCA, short for tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in raw cannabis and hemp plants.

In its raw form, THCA is different from THC. However, when exposed to sufficient heat, THCA can convert into THC through a natural process called decarboxylation.

Will a THCA vape get you high?

Yes. When THCA is heated, it converts into THC and can produce intoxicating effects. Effects vary depending on the product, dose, individual tolerance, and terpene profile.

Do not drive or operate machinery after use.

What’s the difference between THCA and THC?

THCA is the raw, acidic precursor to THC. THC is the cannabinoid most commonly associated with intoxicating cannabis effects.

The key difference is activation. THCA is found in the plant before heat is applied, while THC is the activated form created when THCA is exposed to sufficient heat.

Will THCA vapes show up on a drug test?

Very likely, yes. Because THCA converts into THC during use and is processed similarly by the body, it may trigger a positive THC drug test.

Do not use THCA products if you are subject to drug testing.

Is THCA legal?

Our hemp products are sold based on compliance requirements at the time of sale, with published COAs. Laws vary by country and can change quickly, so always check your local rules.

What’s the difference between Golden Owls and Platinum Owls?

Golden Owls and Platinum Owls are our two main product tiers.

Golden Owls is our everyday range: reliable, great value, and designed for a consistent Owls Oil experience.

Platinum Owls is our more premium range, with stronger, richer, or more refined formulations depending on the product.

For THCA vapes, Golden Owls contain 52% THCA with premium botanical-derived terpenes, while Platinum Owls contain 65% THCA with real cannabis-derived terpenes and a wider strain selection.

For gummies, Golden Owls are made with hemp-derived distillate D9, while Platinum Owls are made with hemp-derived live rosin D9.

Check each product page and COA for the exact cannabinoid profile and batch details.

How do I choose the right strain?

Start by choosing the type of experience you're looking for:

  • Indica strains are often chosen for a slower, more relaxing experience.
  • Sativa strains are often chosen for a brighter, more uplifting experience.
  • Hybrid strains offer a balance of both.

Effects vary from person to person, so if you're new to THCA, it's best to start with a small amount and increase gradually if needed.

Using Your Vape

Why does my THCA vape look cloudy or crystallised?

Cloudiness, thickness, or light crystallisation can happen naturally with high-THCA vapes, especially in colder temperatures.

THCA is a crystalline cannabinoid, which means it can partially solidify or appear cloudy when exposed to cold conditions. This is temperature-related and does not automatically mean the product is faulty.

You may also notice that the oil looks very clear at times. This can be normal for high-purity cannabinoid blends, where the oil may appear lighter, clearer, cloudier, or thicker depending on temperature and storage conditions.

Is crystallisation a fault or a bad sign?

Not usually. Light cloudiness or partial crystallisation is a normal characteristic of high-THCA formulations.

In many cases, crystallisation simply reflects the nature of THCA itself. THCA naturally forms crystals, which is why high-THCA products are sometimes referred to as “liquid diamonds”.

This does not automatically mean the vape is defective.

Will crystallisation affect potency or performance?

Light crystallisation should not meaningfully affect potency or performance. During normal use, the oil warms up and the THCA can re-melt and vaporise as expected.

If the vape is pulling normally and producing vapour, it should be fine to use as intended.

If the vape is fully crystallised, not pulling properly, leaking, or producing little to no vapour, contact us with your order number and a clear photo or video so we can inspect it.

What should I do if my vape has crystallised?

First, keep the vape upright and allow it to sit at room temperature.

If needed, you can apply gentle warmth only, such as holding it in your hands or placing it in a warm room. Avoid direct flame, ovens, microwaves, boiling water, or excessive heat. Do not overheat the device.

If crystallisation does not improve, or if the vape still does not pull properly, contact us at info@owlsoil.com with your order number and a clear photo or video.

Why does this happen more with Owls Oil THCA vapes?

Owls Oil THCA vapes use a high-potency blend with over 50% THCA. Higher THCA concentrations are more prone to crystallisation, particularly in colder weather.

Some other vape products may crystallise less because they contain little or no THCA, lower levels of THCA, or different formulations. Customers can check the relevant COA to verify cannabinoid content and batch information.

How should I store my vape?

Store your vape upright, at room temperature, and away from direct sunlight.

Avoid leaving it in very cold conditions, direct heat, or lying on its side for long periods. Proper storage helps reduce crystallisation, clogging, leaking, and performance issues.

My vape is clogged, leaking, harsh, or not pulling properly. What should I do?

Most vape issues are caused by one of the following:

  • Cold or thick oil
  • Clogged airflow
  • Low battery
  • Poor battery connection
  • Pulling too hard
  • Using too much heat
  • Storing the vape sideways

Try the following:

  1. Keep the vape upright.
  2. Allow it to sit at room temperature.
  3. Charge the device if needed.
  4. Take shorter, gentler puffs.
  5. Use lower heat where voltage settings are available.
  6. Gently warm the device in your hands or in a warm room.

Do not use direct flame, an oven, microwave, boiling water, or excessive heat.

If the issue continues, contact us at info@owlsoil.com with your order number and a clear photo or video.

What voltage should I use for THCA cartridges?

THCA cartridges usually perform best at low to mid voltage. High heat can cause a burnt taste, waste oil faster, and increase the chance of clogging.

Use shorter puffs and give the device a moment between pulls.

How long does a vape last?

This depends on how often you use it, your puff length, and your heat settings. Shorter, lower-heat puffs usually help the vape last longer and maintain better flavour.

Check the product packaging for an approx. usage estimate.

Responsible Use & Disposal

Who should avoid using THCA vapes?

Do not use THCA vapes if you are under 18, pregnant, nursing, sensitive to THC-like effects, subject to drug testing, or advised to avoid cannabis or cannabinoid products.

If you have a medical condition or take medication, speak with a qualified healthcare professional before use.

Can I drive after using a THCA vape?

No. Do not drive or operate machinery after using a THCA vape.

THCA converts into THC when heated and may cause intoxicating effects. It may also result in a positive drug test.

How do I dispose of Owls Oil vapes?

Please don’t put used vapes in your household or general waste bin!

Vapes contain electrical components and batteries, so they should be recycled as electrical waste. In Ireland, you can recycle used vapes for free through WEEE Ireland Blue Battery Boxes, which are available in many newsagents, supermarkets, electrical retailers and local authority recycling centres.

Where possible, remove any detachable tank or battery before recycling. If the battery cannot be removed, recycle the whole device through an appropriate WEEE drop-off point, civic amenity site, or participating retailer offering vape take-back.

All Owls Oil vapes are USB-C rechargeable, allowing you to use the full contents of the device before disposal.
